COVID-19 Update 12-7-2020
12th July, 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
As per the Premier’s announcement earlier today all students will return to Remote and Flexible Learning as of Monday 20th July.
This coming week (Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July) has been set as pupil free days. Staff will be planning the set up and continuation of learning from home for all students.
Based on feedback from students, parents and staff it is anticipated that students will be supported through the online program Seesaw (replacing DB Primary) and the continuation of the use of Webex. More information will be sent out later this week.
In line with DET requirements staff will be on site this week to supervise and care for students whose parents/carers cannot work from home and for those students identified as vulnerable. Students who have a parent at home will not be accepted this week for school supervision.
To help us plan ahead please complete the attached on-site attendance form. Please ensure that you only select the days, and times that you require assistance to help minimise the risk for everyone. If you are able to drop your child off later than 9am, or collect your child before 3:20pm please do so, noting that your child must be picked up by 3:20pm or booked into after school care (TheirCare 1300 072 410). Please note students must meet Department requirements to attend on-site.
Students will only be permitted to enter through the front gate and parents will be required to drop them off in person and collect them when supervision is no longer required, on or before 3:20pm. Students will be supervised in mixed age groups similar to a day care provider.
For the ongoing safety of staff, students and families, the school will not admit any child who presents as unwell. Parents will need to make other arrangements to care for these children. If a member of your family is being tested for COVID-19 we ask that your children do not attend school until those results have come back.
As per the arrangements made last term parents will NOT be allowed to enter the school grounds unless attending the front office.
We kindly ask that all communication with the school be done through Sentral (Parent Portal), email (Cranbourne.firstname.lastname@example.org) and via phone to minimise the risks to staff and students at school. If you are required to come into the office, please arrange this with us prior to attending (unless it is for the purpose of dropping off or collecting your child/ren).
There has been discussion around the use of thermometers at school. It has been publicised that temperature checks are only taking place at Secondary schools and Specialised schools this week. If mainstream Primary schools are required to complete temperature checks please be assured this will happen.
We are still waiting on information from the Department, we will endeavour to update you as soon as possible once information comes to light. Please continue to stay safe in the community and maintain social distancing to protect everyone.
